Top international CSIW-CSIO winner and the best son of the late Guidam!

Luidam can undoubtedly be rated as one of the best stallions of the new millennium. His rise to fame began early when he became Foxhunter Champion at Wembley in 1999. An incredible competition record has followed under the rides of John Popeley and Billy Twomey. In 2001 under John Popeley, Luidam was a big winner on the Florida sunshine tour winning the Grand Prix. In 2003, Luidam retuned to England to win the most consistent overall performer on the Queens Golden Jubilee Tour, the highlight of the British calendar in that year.

Luidam had tremendous success including being on the winning 2003 CSIO Nations Cup teams in St Gallen and Aachen. Luidam also won the Grand Prix at La Baule, the final of the Samsung Super League Tour, and he was 2nd in the Grand Prix of St. Gallen, Dublin, Mauberge, Norden Hadenburg and the British Open Championships at Sheffield. The jewel in the crown for Luidam was being short listed for the Olympic games in Athens 2004.

Luidam's sire, Guidam, is a son of Quidam de Revel (Jalisco B) who acquired world fame in 1992 with his performance in the Barcelona Olympics ridden by Hervé Godignon where he won team bronze and was fourth Individually.

Guidam was also very successful under Eric van der Vleuten. We remember most their title of the 'Best Stallion' at the Zwolle International Stallion Show. In addition to his success in sport, Guidam is acknowledged as being one of the 10 best sires in the World as well. He was given the KWPN "Keur" distinction and was the leading sire among the best sires of CSO winners with the rare score of 17 in 2003/2004.

Just after his death, Guidam's offspring paid tribute to him with 3 great medals at the 2008 Beijing Olympic Games: Ninja La Silla, silver medal with Rolf Goran Bengston and Authentic, individual bronze medal and team gold medal with Beezie Madden! Authentic also won the Grand Prix at Aachen in 2007, one year after winning an individual silver medal at the World Equestrian Games. Authentic was voted "Horse of the Year 2004" in the USA and also won a team silver medal at the Athens Olympic Games.

Luidam's dam, Eljenohve is a "Pref Elite" mare in the KWPN Stud Book. She has also produced Joline, the dam of Orsini,an international eventing winner. She is also the granddam of the very successful Grand Prix stallion, Scandic, ridden by Patrick Kittel.  Eljenohve's sire, Akteur, sired the international show jumping full brothers Tepic La Silla winner of a bronze medal at the 2003 European championships and Shurlands Governor, whilst through Lucky Boy xx she is closely related to such top performers as The Freak, Titan and Brown Boy who were all top level show jumping horses.

Michael Whitaker says of Luidam, "One of the most exciting, consistent and promising new stallions to be available to breeding programs in many years"

Luidam has fantastic looks, temperament, ability and conformation. Luidam has young stock now performing at all levels. His Irish Sport Horse gelding son, Excel Star Time to Shine won the 4-year old division of the 2019 USEA Young Event Horse East Coast Championships at Fair Hill, in Maryland.
