The 2006 Hanoverian Dressage Stallion of the Year

Lauries Crusado xx was born in England in 1985 and began his career on the track. He achieved a handicap of 90.5 kilograms (200 lb) which opened the doors for him to warmblood breeding in Germany. The late renowned stallion owner, Maas J. Hell, discovered the bay, and thanks to his good relationship with the Hanoverian State Stud director at the time, Dr. Burchard Bade, Lauries Crusador xx was brought to the Niedersaechsische Landgestuet in 1991 where he became the first non-Hanoverian sire in the Hanoverian breeding program.

Almost no other Thoroughbred has influenced German warmblood breeding as this English sire has. For the Hanoverian Society, 2406 offspring have been registered, 248 daughters have been honored as States Premium Mares, and 55 sons have been licensed. In Celle, some of his best sons are at home; above all, Londonderry with his sons, Londontime, Lauscher, Liberty Gold and Lorenzio.

In sport, Lauries Crusador xx stands for pure performance.

Le Bo, ridden by Carola Koppelmann, was 3rd in the 2005 German National Championships. The former Hanoverian Elite auction horse, Lesotho, was a member of the Olympic gold medal team in Athens under Ellen Schulten-Baumer. Louis Heslegard, ridden by Gerda Lehmann, was on the Danish Olympic team, and at the 2006 World Equestrian Games in Aachen, Le Primeur, competed for Switzerland under Marie-Line Wettstein.
