Donee is sired by the legendary Donnerhall, two-time world dressage champion and scion of recent Oldenburg breeding history. Donee is the first licensed stallion from the Oldenburg line of Edeltraud (Faun – Famos – Ottwald). Among the progeny of Edelkarin are auction and award-winning foals and dependable riding and sport horses. She had a fine breeding debut: her son by Rubinstein I, born in 1991, participated in national championships for young horses at 5 years of age. Subsequently he was successful in tournament sport in dressage competitions up to advanced level. The sire of the dam, Absinth (Absatz – Iwan – Eisberg), has the famous Trakehner horses Abglanz and Insgeheim among his ancestors. In Bavaria, Absinth sired successful show mares, for example the national champion Nizza. In Oldenburg, several daughters of Absinth became dams of licensed stallions. In 1987, a son of Absinth, Aufmarsch, was the best stallion at stallion licensing in Munich. The three-quarter Thoroughbred Varus (Vierzehnender xx – More Magic xx – Rheinritter) was a successful show-jumpers. The Hanoverian Kurprinz (Kurier – Format II – Falk III) completes the performance pedigree.  Donee was the standout winner of the 70 days stallion performance test in Neustadt/Dosse in 2005, at the top in both dressage and jumping. In tournament sport, first places in tests for young riding horses were followed by high rankings in novice level competitions for young dressage horses. Predestinated for the dressage ring, Donee moves in steady balance, cadenced in trot, energetic and hindleg-driven in canter. Looking at this modern dark chestnut stallion, dressage riders will praise Donee, but may also like him as a high quality hunter.
