The eye-catching stallion Contendro II was approved at the Holsteiner stallion show in 2003. Contendro II is a full sibling of the promising breeding stallion Contendro I, who made quite an impression at the stallionshow in 2001 in Adelheidsdorf. Both are progeny of the famous stallion Contender (who also sired the famous Dutch stallion Contango), and the mare Bravo from the Holstein line 104a. The genetic power of dam Bravo is underlined by her oldest approved son Caretano Z. This stallion, who died too early, won with Jos Lansink the World Championship for young horses at Lanaken at the age of 7. In the maternal line, Contendro II carries four times the blood of the highly appreciated producer of sporthorses Ramzes x. Capability for jumping is very strong in the lines of Contendro II. This is confirmed by the series of international sporthorses from this line, among which Lemur (Peter Weinberg),Fresko (Gerd Wiltfang),Freeman (Hauke Schmidt), Lorent II (Kurt Jarasinki),Nicolette (Robert Whitaker),Corlanda (Willi Melliger),Lapaz (Emile Hendrix),Athletico (Ludger Beerbaum),Corland (Wout Jan v.d.Schans),Cajano (Hauke Luther),Celano (Rob Ehrens) en Athlet (Willi Melliger). In 2004, Contendro successfully completed the performance test at Adelheidsdorf. Of the 32 participants of this test, Contendro II was first in the jumping category with an index of 142.77, and he was second in the total batch with an index of 132.06. |
