Chekandino--just like his
sire, Contender – the best
Holstein stallion of modern times. Chekandino's career will
start in Klein Roscharden. This gorgeous bay stallion has
been inbred through Contender's dam, Gofine, who is also
Chekandino's great granddam. This Ramiro-Ladykiller
xx daughter is probably the most influential mare (line
2472) in Holstein breeding, just because she's Contender's
dam. His son Checkmate/Meredith Michaels-Beerbaum was the
most successful German jumper in the 2006 season and
Montender was the 2005 European Champion under Marco
Kutscher. The 2006 Holstein Champion Stallion was a
Contender son. But before Contender war born, Gofine
produced a Holstein Reserve Champion Stallion, Cornetto, and
an internationally successful mare called Ulina who was
ridden by Susanne Behring. Various daughters have become the
dams of licensed stallions (Cassandro I and II) and
international sport horses, for example, Fine Kiss/Michael
Robert (FRA) and Caliskan/Candice King (USA). Chekandino's dam, Libelle, not only has half-brothers and
sisters who are successful in sport, she's the daughter of
the top international sire, Quidam de Revel, which brings
the Almé bloodline into the pedigree. No other stallion was
found as often in the pedigrees of the jumpers at the 2006
World Equestrian Games in Aachen as he was. Another Libelle
son, Capanos by Corrade, was licensed in 2002.
