Beauty in combination with quality and character: Stallion performance test champion Strahlemann is a highly modern stallion ideally suited to be bred to small riding pony mares, Welsh-B mares, or for small horse breeding.
His name which means "Radience man" came out of the comments given to the elegant stallion by the Weser-Ems breeding committee at his licensing in 2009. They referred to him as a "real radiance man" and a small version of his sire, Sandro Hit. For breed and gender type, conformation, trot, free jumping and overall impression he was given 8's throughout.
Weser-Ems Breeding committee member, Marielle Oellrich-Overesch, wrote the following about him in the January 2010 edition of the German Oldenburg magazine, "Pferdeforum": "A unique brilliance was brought into the hall by the Oldenburg Sandro Hit son, Strahlemann (damsire Weltmeyer, bred by Manfred & Edda Husch, owned by Gabriele Hemsoth). The black stallion had an incomparable radiance emanating from a modern riding horse type with harmonious conformation. His active hind legs gave him a swinging lift from the ground in trot. In canter, he jumped through every stride with vitality, and in walk, he did not confirm the prejudices about Sandro Hit offspring: he walks with tremendous relaxation, clear in rhythm, and with ground covering overstep. He also passed through the free jumping with flying colors. An interesting stallion who has pertinent sport horse features to bring into the sport pony breeding."
Under the two riders, Kathrin Dittmer and Greta Heemsoth, Strahlemann was very successful in the young horse tests. He continued that streak winning many young horse classes as well as dressage tests with scores of 8's and 9's in 2011. In the same year, he won the stallion performance test at Neutstadt-Dosse with an overall score of 8.33. In 2012 he went on to wins and placings in M level (~3rd Level US) dressage tests.
Strahlemann's sire, Sandro Hit, was the champion of both the Bundeschampionate and the World Championships for young dressage horses. Today he is well known as one of the most successful dressage sires in the world having produced numerous licensed sons and top competitors in the Grand Prix arena.
Strahlemann stems from a very successful mare line which has also produced many successful dressage horses and jumpers. Among others was the stallion Dionysos (Dream of Glory x Burma by Busoni xx) who under Anja Hermelink had 23 victories at S Level after having been successful as a young horse in the Bundeschampionate and World Championships. Strahlemann's granddam Burma also produced the successful jumper, Forever Fritz (For Pleasure). Strahlemann's dam, Whinny, was placed exclusively into breeding and has produced many auction horses and foals.
Strahlemann has confirmed these excellent genes by producing champion foals in various breeding registries and numerous premium foals in just two years of breeding. His foals have been 100% dark so far, and they are beautiful, correct, and elegant. They are distinctive pony types with quiet natures, and they look especially trusting.
Warmblood breeders have also been very happy with their foals by Strahlemann who were registered as small riding horses in each of their respective registries.
