Ludwigs As was the cheered as the 2007 Main Premium award winner of the Oldenburger Show Jumping Association in Vechta. He is a highly modern stallion with a first class type and movement, and he has an ideal technique at the jump. Because of his success in sport combined with the excellent quality of his first foals, he was honored with this Main Premium award as a 4 yr. old stallion.
He began his career as the second reserve champion of the Oldenburg licensing, and he was honored as the best jumping colt of the year. He then passed his performance test as the best 3 yr. old and with a fifth place overall scoring 127.73. For dressage he received a score of 121.90 points (4th place) and for jumping 127.83 (4th place).
His first show season ended with wins in tests for young jumpers up to elementary (1.20m) level. Over the next year, he racked up more victories in the youngster classes, and he qualified for the Bundeschampionate.
In 2009, Ludwigs As won many 1.30m youngster classes in a row. He took part successfully in the Bundeschampionate and was placed at the World Championships for Young Jumpers in Lanaken/Belgium.
In 2010 and 2011, he was placed in big international shows (1.40m) such as the Hamburg Derby and E.ON Westfalen Weser Challenge in Paderborn. He also won his first classes at "S-level".
Ludwigs As is a son of Ludwig von Bayern out of the successful dam-line of "Ballkrone":
His dam, Verbands Premium mare Belle Bijou, and granddam, State Premium mare Bellavista, both received perfect scores of 10.0 in free jumping. His three-quarters sister, State Premium mare Belle Fee (by Landor S), received this highest mark for jumping as well!
The great granddam, State Premium mare Iluna by Inschallah AA, produced several first class dressage horses and the licensed stallion, Royal Star. Her dam, State Premium mare Ballerina by Furioso II, was the full sister of the international show jumper Flying (1.50m-classes), and she produced the Grand Prix jumper Zampano.
The 5th dam, State Premium mare Ballkine by Condor, produced many more horses, which were successful in international dressage, show jumping and eventing such as the licensed dressage stallion, Donnerloh, and the Oldenburger Jumper of the Year 2005, Armitage.
